Classic Lemon Bars with a Buttery Crust

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Mix until well combined and a dough forms.
Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the crust is lightly golden.
While the crust is baking, prepare the lemon filling. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, flour, lemon juice, and lemon zest until smooth and well combined.
Pour the lemon filling over the hot crust. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly golden on top.
Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the lemon bars out of the pan.
Dust the top with powdered sugar before slicing into squares.
