Spread the pecan halves on a baking sheet.
Toast in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, stirring once, until they are fragrant.
Remove from oven and let cool.
Make the Filling:
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined.
Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition.
Stir in the corn syrup, vanilla extract, salt, and heavy cream until the mixture is smooth.
Assemble the Pie:
Arrange the toasted pecans in the bottom of the prepared pie crust.
Pour the filling mixture over the pecans.
Bake:
Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips.
Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
If the crust starts to brown too quickly, cover the edges with aluminum foil.
Cool:
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
Serve:
Once cooled, slice and serve.
Enjoy your Butter Pecan Pie with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
