How to Force a Snake Plant to Produce Pups for Unlimited Babies

What Are “Pups”?
“Pups” are the baby shoots or mini-plants that grow from the base of your snake plant. Once they’re big enough, you can separate and replant them to expand your collection — totally free.
How to Trigger Pup Production:
1. Choose the Right Pot Size
Use a slightly tight pot. Snake plants love to feel root-bound — this stress triggers reproduction.
2. Expose to Bright, Indirect Light
Give your plant plenty of indirect light (not direct sun). Light encourages energy production = more pups.
3. Cut One Leaf Near the Base
Cutting a mature leaf can stimulate the plant to replace what’s lost — often with a pup.
