Plumbers don’t tell! I lowered the hose into the toilet and a miracle happened
- Start by cutting off the top of an empty plastic bottle. This part will serve as a makeshift funnel that will help you securely attach the hose to the toilet.
- At the end of the hose, make an angled cut. This will make it easier to insert the hose into the toilet and will help direct the water flow toward the clog.
- Insert the hose into the toilet drain, making sure to get as close to the clog as possible to maximize effectiveness.
- Use tape or a sealant to secure the connection between the hose and the plastic bottle. It is important that this connection is tight to prevent water from escaping during the process.
- Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda inside the toilet.
- Pour the vinegar into the cut bottle that you attached to the hose. The vinegar will react with the baking soda, creating an effervescent foam that will help break down clogs.
- I let the baking soda and vinegar mixture sit in the toilet for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Turn on the faucet so that water runs through the hose and pushes the clog out of the drain. Hold the hose in place until you see water running freely.
- Remove the hose and check to see if the toilet is now unclogged. If the clog persists, you can repeat the process to make sure the drain is completely clear.
