1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place baguette slices on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
3. Add shrimp to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
4. While the shrimp is cooking, mash the avocado in a bowl with lemon juice, chopped cilantro, salt, and pepper.
5. To assemble, spread a dollop of mashed avocado onto each crostini. Top with a sizzling garlic shrimp and garnish with extra cilantro if desired.
