Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, melted butter, and egg until well blended. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
In another large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and peanut butter until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until well combined. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the filling over the cake layer in the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is set but the center is still slightly gooey. Allow the cake to cool in the pan before slicing and serving.
