1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
4. Stir in the hot espresso until well combined. The batter will be thin.
5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Remove from the oven and let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
8. Once the cakes are cooled, you can frost them with your favorite frosting or ganache.
