Smoky BBQ Sausage Sloppy Joes

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper to the skillet and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables are softened.
Stir in the BBQ sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Toast the hamburger buns if desired. Spoon the sausage mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, then add any optional toppings before placing the top half of the bun on top.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
