Add Flavors:
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt. #AddFlavors
Combine with Cereal:
Pour the peanut butter mixture over the Rice Chex cereal. Gently stir until all the cereal is evenly coated. #CombineCereal
Add Chocolate Chips:
Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then fold in the mini chocolate chips. The mixture should be cool enough so the chocolate chips don’t melt completely. #AddChocChips
Press into Pan:
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Press it down firmly and evenly with a spatula or your hands. #PressIntoPan
Cinnamon Sugar Topping:
In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top of the bars. #CinnamonSugarTopping
Cool and Set:
Allow the bars to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for another 30 minutes to set completely. #CoolingTime
Cut and Serve:
Once set, lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut into squares. Serve and enjoy! #ServeAndEnjoy
Tips:
Storage: Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or in the refrigerator for a firmer texture.
