Classic Pineapple Granny Cake

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk together eggs, melted butter, pineapple with juice, and vanilla.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Pour batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
For the topping, combine evaporated milk, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and stir in coconut and pecans.
Spread topping over the hot cake and return to the oven for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
