Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat together the mashed bananas, peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Add Chocolate Chips: If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
Fill Muffin Cups: Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
Bake: Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
Cool: Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips:
For extra flavor, drizzle melted peanut butter on top of the muffins before baking.
If you prefer, you can substitute the vegetable oil with melted coconut oil for a different twist.
Enjoy your homemade Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Muffins!
