The Classic Italian Muffuletta Sandwich

Prepare the Olive Salad:
In a large bowl, combine the green olives, black olives, roasted red peppers, celery, carrots, cauliflower, garlic, parsley, and capers.
Add the oregano, basil, olive oil, and red wine vinegar. Mix well.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
Assemble the Sandwich:
Slice the Italian bread loaf in half horizontally.
Spread half of the olive salad on the bottom half of the bread.
Layer the salami, mortadella, ham, provolone, and mozzarella on top of the olive salad.
Spread the remaining olive salad over the meats and cheeses.
Place the top half of the bread on the sandwich and press down gently.
Wrap the sandwich tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to combine.
Serve:
Unwrap the sandwich and slice into wedges or quarters.
