Ingredients:
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Directions:
Prepare the Dulce de Leche:
Remove the label from the can of sweetened condensed milk. Place the unopened can in a pot and cover it with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 2-3 hours. Make sure the can is always covered with water to prevent it from bursting.
Carefully remove the can from the pot and let it cool completely before opening.
