Killer Brownies

Prepare the batter:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until well combined.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
Bake the brownies:
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
If using, drizzle the caramel sauce over the top and swirl it into the batter with a knife.
Sprinkle sea salt flakes on top (if using).
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cool and serve:
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the baking dish before cutting into squares.
