Delicate Strawberry Cream Danish

Prepare the Danish Pastry:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut each sheet of puff pastry into 4 equal squares. Place the squares on the prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl, mix the beaten egg with 2 tablespoons of water to create an egg wash. Brush the edges of each pastry square with the egg wash.
Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling:
In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Spoon a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each pastry square and spread it slightly, leaving the edges clean.
Add the Strawberry Topping:
In a small bowl, mix the sliced strawberries with the strawberry jam and 1 tablespoon of water until the strawberries are well coated.
Spoon the strawberry mixture over the cream cheese filling on each pastry square.
Bake the Danish:
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed up. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes.
Prepare the Glaze:
In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar with 1-2 tablespoons of milk to create a smooth glaze.
Drizzle the glaze over the cooled Danish pastries before serving.
