Orange angel food cake recipe with passion fruit syrup

Ingredients for the cake:

  • 1 cup (approx. 120 g) angel flour (fine flour)
  • 1 1/2 cups (about 300 g) sugar, divided
  • 12 egg whites, at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange peel, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Creme of Tartar (cream of tartar) or 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Ingredients for the passion fruit syrup:

  • 1 cup (approx. 240 ml) fresh passion fruit juice
  • 1/2 cup (approx. 100 g) sugar
  • Juice of half a lemon
