1.Anti-infectious

The fact that thyme is an important health ally is partly due to its anti-infectious and antiseptic properties.

In one study, its use in the form of essential oil showed significant activity against 120 strains of bacteria in patients suffering from oral, respiratory and genitourinary infections.

To benefit from its beneficial effects, it would be wise to consume thyme in the form of herbal tea or simply sprinkle it over your dishes and salads.

2. Anti-inflammatory

Thyme has an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect and owes its effect to a phenolic compound: thymol.

According to researchers, the latter could alleviate asthma by fighting the free radicals responsible for inflammation.

Jean-Louis Brazier, pharmacologist, recommends inhaling thyme to clear the respiratory tract.

Ideally, you boil water, pour it into a bowl and add 2 tablespoons of thyme. Afterwards, you need to tilt your head over the container, cover it with a towel and then breathe gently for a few minutes.
