Bem Casados (Brazilian Wedding Cookies)

Bem Casados are traditional Brazilian treats – consisting of dulce de leche sandwiched between two small discs of sponge cake – that are served at weddings, bridal and baby showers, and other special occasions. It is impossible to resist them!

Ingredients

SPONGE CAKE

4 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cups potato starch

FILLING

1 cup dulce de leche

SUGAR GLAZE

2 cups confectioners sugar
1/2 cup warm water
